I know I haven't written a real update in a while, and this won't be much of one either. I just wanted to take some time out to say that the summer of 2007 is turning out to be the best, most social, most fun summer I've had since I entered the work world. Yes, there have been a number of things that have made me pissed off and frustrated, but I don't want to talk about them right now (mostly work-related, the rest are sewing-related). The point is, while things may not be perfect right now (and are actually far from it), I'm having fun. Good times were had at HP on Wednesday, and tonight I get to hang out with a friend who just moved back to this state after an 11-year absence. In general, I have a feeling that everything's going to work out okay, so until then, I'm doing my best to enjoy the ride.

My work situation will figure itself out eventually. In the meantime, later this month, I will get to enjoy brand new books from two of my favorite authors. I am also in the process of reconnecting with a number of people I used to know, and that makes me happy. I know things can't continue forever they way this summer has been (and I wouldn't want them to), but I will enjoy it while it lasts.

Sweet. It's great to hear, all things considered, that you're still making the most of things and having fun.

[And sewing frustrations -- hah, in a couple weeks, I'll get to experience the same for myself yet again!]

I'm sure you could relate. Three hours before I had to leave for the HP movie, I was finishing up a new skirt I made for my Hogwarts uniform. And rather than happily sewing the waistband, my sewing machine decided to do nothing but vomit thread. Luckily, I was able to hand-stitch fast enough, but the waistband still needs a bit of work. Should be all good in time for next week's Potter Parties.
