Moment of True Geekiness

illyanarasputin gave me a boxed set of three Star Trek movies that a coworker of hers was getting rid of: Generations, First Contact, and Insurrection. I'm watching First Contact right now, and just had a moment of true geekiness. During the scene when Picard, Worf, and Ensign Redshirt go outside the Enterprise-E to remove the deflector dish, the manual release display screen says, "Maglock AE35." Now, for those of you who remember 2001: A Space Odyssey, it is the AE-35 unit that HAL 9000 reports as malfuntioning in order to get Dave Bowman and Frank Poole outside the ship where he kills Poole. There's no way this was a coincidence.
