willow_red 's Day Off
Sep. 21st, 2004 08:55 pmIt's September, and as expected, life is pretty hectic for me right now. In an effort to not burn out completely, I'm going to take some really good advice I was given last week. One or two days a week, I'm taking time off for me, to do the things I want or need to do to try to maintain my tenuous hold on sanity.
Sunday was the first of these days. I woke up feeling pretty crappy the morning after the wedding, so I opted to take it easy. I took a little walk around the neighborhood (very slowly since my legs were hurting from dancing the night before), then drove around a bit between Boulder and Longmont. It was nice, and allowed me to recover enough to get some furniture and boxes moved around at home.
I want to make a habit of this kind of day (well, except for the feeling crappy in the morning part). It won't always be the same day(s) of the week, and it won't necessarily be planned much in advance. So if I dis anyone by not hanging out even with no real excuse once in a while, I'm sorry, but if I don't do this occasionally, I'm going to snap.
Thanks for understanding.
Oh, and just a heads-up: I'm planning a housewarming party for Saturday, October 16th. Details are TBD, but all on my friends list are invited, along with a bunch of other people, who I really should e-mail one of these days.
