Linguistic Ponderings
Dec. 30th, 2005 10:36 pmIf decapitate means to remove the head of someone or something, you'd think that capitate would mean to attach the head. Merriam-Webster seems to be just shy of that definition. This pertains directly to a gift for
ashfae that I am currently working on. Thank you for the spiffy Christmas cracker! I will have to find someone to help me pull it (preferably not in front of Akito). And I will pledge here that your gifts will go out in the mail soon, probably Tuesday, especially since postage rates go up on your birthday.
Making gifts for people sounded like a really good idea at the time...forgetting how long it takes to do that. Oh well, it's not like I ever manage to be on time anyway.
In case I don't get around to posting something tomorrow, happy new year to all, and I wish you all the best in 2006!
