Progress Report #1: 101 in 1001
Feb. 12th, 2006 07:29 pmAdded #34-41. Progress made on #3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 22, 36, and 38. Still looking for ideas for #42-101.
Starting Thursday 2 February 2006
To be completed on or before Thursday 30 October 2008
1. Present a paper at a professional conference in my field
2. Pay off (and close account for) second mortgage
3. Find a long-term solution for daycare for Akito that does not require him to be at my parents' house (Waiting to hear back from someone who might be able to help me on this)
4. Work out at least twice a week on workdays, plus weekends (I'd like to find a way to work out every day, but that doesn't look realistic right now) (Worked out 5 of the last 7 days, though only one of those was a workday. However, my energy level has gone up, and so has my motivation.)
5. Catch up on Space.com e-mails and stay current to within two weeks (currently 8 months, 1 week behind)
6. Maintain inbox at < 500 messages (once I get down to that; current status: 1280)
7. Travel to a country I've never been to before (i.e. not the US or Canada)
8. Drive along the Pacific Coast between Vancouver, BC and San Diego, CA
9. Attend my high school reunion
10. Lose 20 lbs from August 2005 baseline weight (current status: 5 lbs)
11. Make another cosplay costume and wear it to a con
12. Visit at least 3 friends who live more than 2 hours away by car
13. Take Akito on a road trip
14. Save CU's Tau Beta Pi chapter
15. Host at least 2 parties each year (2006: one down, one to go)
16. Donate at least $100 to charity each year
17. Start a PhD program
18. Complete another NaNoWriMo novel
19. Write and edit a short story fit for publication
20. Hike Bear Peak again
21. Hike to the top of a mountain above 10,000 ft
22. Organize storage stuff in second bedroom, making it fit to be a guest room (got a very small start)
23. Redo lighting in second bedroom
24. Decorate master bedroom
25. Go on a date with someone I'm interested in (the original plan was to be married and maybe have a kid by late 2008, but the point of this exercise is to be realistic)

28. Fix up the lawn in the backyard
29. Come up with 3 new "presentable" recipes

37. Ridiculously overdue graduation present for
enishi2000 (I have something very specific in mind, but I'm not saying what it is because it's a surprise)
38. Super-Secret Project (This is something I started at the end of last year. It's pretty huge, but I don't want to talk about it for fear that I'll then end up not doing it. Anyway, for the purposes of this list, let's make the goal to be getting halfway through this.) (Did a little more detailed organizing of this over the weekend. Starting to get an inkling of just how big a project it really is.)
