Yeah, I fail at planning Shakespeare Festival stuff. Anyway, [livejournal.com profile] illyanarasputin and I are going to see Unexpected Shaxpere (the improv show) tomorrow at the 2:00pm matinee. If you're interested and available, feel free to join.

In other news, I am exercising obsessively in an attempt to lose "just one more pound" before my high school reunion in two weeks. Also, things are about to ramp up in a pretty major way with the TBP convention. I know only about two people who read this journal are members, and even they probably don't care, but if you know anyone who is a member (student or alum) in the area and has the slightest interest in helping out, *especially* if they've been to a convention before, please do not hesitate to have them contact me. My last name at gmail dot com is working best right now. As for everyone else not involved in that particular madness, I am likely to drop off the face of the earth for the next couple months. While I'm still interested in hanging out with people and doing stuff, I want you to know that if I say no more often than usual, this is probably why.

And on a completely unrelated note, can anyone give me some advice on what to look for when buying an iron? Are they all the same, or is there a reason to go for a more expensive one? This question is mostly addressed to [livejournal.com profile] lilacwire and [livejournal.com profile] kathleenroberts, but anyone is free to chime in.

Honestly, I went to wal-mart and found an iron that looked good. Mostly an iron should have various settings (like 1-6, 1 being low heat for flimsy stuff and 6 or whatever the high number is being for high heat, steam, and for stuff like jean material).

All irons are evil. Be sure to keep this in mind. All of them.

I've found that finding irons is pretty much a crap shoot. My current one leaks water all over, and I've found great ones in hotels As previously mentioned you want mulitiple settings and a ridge for getting around buttons is nice. Steam is your friend. If you happen to find one you love let me know. I'm eager to get rid of my current drippy model.
