Mmm, Shoujo

Just finished watching Hana Yori Dango (Boys Over Flowers). That series was so, so shoujo. Despite it taking place at a high school, the main character went to class two, maybe three times. And since it's shoujo, nothing ever really happened. Well, that isn't exactly true, but close. The characters tend to think very slowly, but I think that has to do with all the blunt head trauma all the major characters suffer. I was rather upset with the last episode, until the very end. Still, that's got to be the most messed-up ending for a series without a wacky premise that I've seen. But it was a good, solid shojo fix, and that's exactly what I wanted it for. Oh, and the random side couple I wanted to get together did.

Of course, the opening song still reminds me of the Happy Days theme.
