Laughing So Hard
Jan. 19th, 2005 08:46 pmWhile I still owe you guys a number of cute puppy stories, I have to tell you what just happened. This is hilarious.
Akito was running laps, racing all around the house like he does sometimes, and then he started racing between me (in the living room) and the back door (in the kitchen). I figured I'd better check out what's going on, and it turned out that he wanted to go outside. I let him out, and he did his business, then started poking around in the pile of leaves and trash that inevitably accumulates in my yard. He came up with some sort of small, brightly-colored package, and I figured I should get it from him before he eats the contents, whatever they might be.
The chase game begins.
We ran all around the yard and the patio, with him hiding behind the air conditioner when he needed to catch his breath. He's a fast little bugger. I had closed the sliding glass door behind me, just in case. My next thought was to try to corner him up against the house, where I might have a slight advantage. Akito was running full tilt and crashed face first into the sliding glass door! Luckily, puppies bounce, and Australian Cattle Dogs don't injure easily. But boy, was he surprised! I couldn't help myself from laughing. Maybe it's a little mean, but it was just so darned cute! I had to share.
Oh, and I did get the trash away from him in the confusion somewhere.
