I signed up for Bike-to-Work Day for the third year in a row. However, I've only actually biked it once, back in 2003. Last year, I was unable to get my bike into decent enough shape in time, so I walked to work that day (~3.5 miles). My feet were not happy with me by the end of the day, but I did it, channeling Yomiko Readman the whole time ;). This year, I have my bike mostly in shape. After months of searching on and off, I finally found replacement brakes. They don't work quite as well as I want them too, but they'll be good enough for now. I think I need to get the cords tightened, but that'll require me to take it in, which won't happen by next week. Btw, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] nickhalfasleep for that link on how brakes are supposed to fit. The tires could use more air, but I'll survive if I don't find my bike pump in time. Must search for my helmet, however.

I took a test ride around the neighborhood for a mile or two, which cramped up my legs more than it should have. Oh well, Bike-to-Work day generally equals pain, but I can do it! Maybe I can start biking to work a day or two here and there to get some exercise.

Check it out! I wrote a short post, and it's the second one this week! Go me!

I don't have a dial pressure gauge, only the stick kind. Is that good enough?
